Over Memorial Day weekend, I had a lot of time to read in the car. I happened to be the winner of a book by Author, Michelle Willingham and this book was an excellent choice for the long ride.

CLAIMED BY THE HIGHLAND WARRIOR is an amazing story of deep rooted love and overcoming life's most tragic situations.  Here's the blurb from the book.

Scotland, 1305
Bram MacKinloch has spent seven long, torturous years in captivity with only three things to keep him alive—pure brute strength, a thirst for revenge and the memory of his pretty wife’s face.

Shock is only one of the emotions coursing through Nairna’s body when she sees Bram again. His scars tell of suffering, the hunger in his eyes speak of a burning desire so raw it could consume them both. But a lot has changed since they so innocently wed….

The story of Bram and Nairna is truly touching. You want to hug Bram and sooth his troubled soul. You will find yourself rooting for their love.  I read almost the entire book in the three hours of driving, (There were a few stops having 4 kids in the car), and when I got home and had the van unpacked, I picked up the book and finished it. The story pulled me back to it and I had to find out how it ended.

I hope you will go to Michelle's website and read an excerpt from the book. If you are interested in purchasing the book, you may go to Amazon, Barnes and Noble, or anywhere books are sold.

You may also find Michelle on Facebook and Twitter.

Totally HOT Thursdays!

I received an email the other day form a fellow Celtic Hearts sister letting me know that if I needed inspiration for my THT piece, then she had a great idea. She had went to see the movie, Something Borrowed, and was struck by the lead man. To quote her, "OMG- SO HOT!"

So Michelle, I dedicate COLIN EGGLESFIELD to you!

Not only has he played on the big screen, but you may recognise this hunk of hotness from television as well. In Melrose Place as Auggie Kirkpatrick and on All My Children as Erica Kane's son, Josh Madden.

Colin was born on February 9, 1973, (I am only a day older than him) in Dearborn Michigan. He is 6 feet of sexy and has a midwestern attitude that is just as appealing.  Colin has a brother and a sister.

Having played baseball and football at his school in the suburb of Chicago, Colin went on to attend college at the University of Iowa to study medicine. To earn money, her turned to modeling at the urging of friends and won a contest. He never looked back after that.

Colin also owns and runs his own New York based clothing company called SHOUT OUT CLOTHING. He uses this foundation to help support and promote educational programs such as Stay in School and Project Grad.

Did I mention he was named one of PEOPLE'S Sexiest Man Alive in 2005? We see why!

Just look into those steely grey eyes, see his wash board abs and that sinfully sweet mouth.  Practically make a woman swoon!
You may find him at wwww.colinegglesfield.com.

The next big thing!

I have heard many times on different agent's blogs that they don't want writers to write what's popular, they want a writer to create the next best thing. Vampires have been a very popular subject of late. That means we shouldn't be writing about vampires.
A friend of mine who is published told me that Amish romance stories are the next big thing. What I wonder is, how do we know what that is? How do we create it? I was told that if you are writing, but the time you get signed, edited and published a year will have passed and the subject then will be outdated.
Agents and Editors are going to know as they watch the market and are able to see a broader picture of what's out there. As a unpublished writer, I would not have that ability. For me, I started writing what I enjoyed reading and that is paranormal historical romance. I have always been interested in Scotland. I love to read historical romance and have been intrigued by time travel. Obviously I wrote about what I knew and interested me.
I have many ideas for new books, I am sure we all have. But will the ideas that float through our heads be the next big thing? So what do you do? Are there trends that never go out of style? If you are writing about what's popular now, does that hurt you or help you get published?

What are you writing about and have you descovered the next big thing?

Totally HOT Thursday

Today's THT hunk is a man we all no so well. When he flashes that smile of his, it makes me melt. When I catch a glimpse of his baby blues, my heart goes pitter patter. He is adorable, handsome, and just down right good looking!

Still wonder who I am talking about? Well, it is none other than the gorgeous BRADLEY COOPER!

Bradley was born on Jan. 5, 1975, in Philadelphia, but grew up in nearby Jenkintown Pennsylvania. He began his acting career in 1998 on the hit TV show, Sex and the City and he had a recurring role on Alias. You can also find him in such movies as, Yes Man, Wedding Crashers, and Failure to Launch.

He has been married to actress, Jennifer Esposito and recently broke up with actress Renee Zellwegger. That's right ladies, the man is currently on the market. ; )

A Buck for Bama!

A Buck for Bama- Author Kerri Nelson- Fundraising for Alabama

I want to take a moment and speak to you about something close to everyone's heart and that is the devastating destruction from the tornado in Alabama. My heart goes out to everyone who's life has been impacted by this terrible force of nature.

There is a wonderful program that has just been brought to my attention. It's called A Buck for Bama.  This program, was started by a wonderful author, Kerri Nelson. She is a native of Alabama, so this tragedy has a personal side for her. She has always given of herself through her workshops and other charities. This is just another one of her great ideas. It is the first charity for her new blog, Charity Blog: Authors helping Others.

Here is how it works. You click one one of the links to donate $1 and ALL proceeds will go to the Elmore County disaster relief fund. The goal is to reach $1000.00. Donations may be set up through PayPal. You may donate $1 or a larger amount.

Life changes on a dime and for the most part, it changes for the better. But once in a while, it throws you for a loop. I hope God watches over everyone effected. May you find the strength and hope needed to make it through the upcoming days!

From Heart of Romance and Sarah Hoss, Author, I want you to know that all of you are in my thoughts and prayers.

A busy time of year

This turn landed him on first base with a run batted in.
It has been a little while since I have gotten on here and actually blogged about something other than an interview or a total hunk. This is the first time I have had my blog in the Spring and as the world comes alive with all of it's splendor, so does the Hoss household.

We are an active family. My children do sports year round. Fall- daughter is in cheerleading and son is in football and other son joins Cub Scouts. Winter- both daughter and son are in swimming. Spring- daughter and both sons are in 4-H. Both sons are in baseball. Summer- daughter is on summer swim league, we continue and finish up 4-H and baseball and there is always the summer camps.

But Spring is the busiest. I enjoy watching them and their sports; cheering them on and watching their faces when something goes right. Taking them for ice cream and giving them a pep talk when they don't.

#25 is my son.
That's not to say that I am not keeping busy with my own things. I am still plugging along in my writing, gathering interviews for the blog and working at the JOB. My husband is building me a deck and I couldn't be more excited about that! And I am planning my trip to attend my first conference this year. My two CP's and I have also decided to get together for a writer's weekend. I can't wait!

So, as I plant more flowers, till my garden, write, cheer my kids on and bask in the sun, I will try and be a little more diligent in keeping up with my posts. I thank you for staying with me. I hope you all have a great Spring and Summer filled with lots of sunny days and glasses of lemonade!

Totally HOT THursdays

Thanks for stopping by my blog and taking another peek at Totally HOT Thursdays. I try my best to leave you wondering who will I post next and walking away thinking I did a good job.

Well, this time I think I chose well. We all know him and we all love him. This weeks THT hunk is none other than TIM MCGRAW.

Who hasn't heard his songs. Even Taylor Swift used him in one of hers. Maybe you have seen him in a movie like Friday Night Lights, The Blindside, Flicka, or Country Strong. Tim is making a name for himself, that's for sure. So, I will be quiet now and let you enjoy the pictures. = )

Interview with Cover Model JIMMY THOMAS

I want to start off and wish all of you a wonderful CINCO de MAYO!

Now, when I go to buy a book or am at the library to pick out a book, the first thing I look at is the cover. And though the mountain scenes with a castle in the background are very nice, we have to admit that the half naked hunk in the foreground is what draws our eye. We love our covers!

Today I am interviewing a man who has graced many of the covers that has captured our eye. Jimmy Thomas, the top leading male cover model is here today!. I hope you will enjoy reading this interview as much as I enjoyed getting it!

1) Welcome to Heart of Romance, Jimmy! We are so happy to have you. Let me start off by asking the question I am sure everyone wants to know and that is, how did you get started in the modeling profession?

Jimmy - I was approached by a gorgeous model in a nightclub that insisted I must be a model. When I told her I wasn’t, she seduced me into modeling ;) Can’t say no to a beautiful woman ;)

SARAH- Good answer! LOL!

2) Can you tell us how many covers you have graced?

Jimmy - As of April 30, 2011, I’m on 1,212 covers, but I’m on approximately 30 new covers each week, so depending on when you read this, you’ll have to do the math, lol ;)

3) You have portrayed everything from a cowboy to a sword yielding Highlander. Is there a persona you haven’t done yet that you would like to and if you have done them all, then which persona is your favorite?

Jimmy - A Sheik with a harem of 12 gorgeous naked girls ;) Lol, I haven’t done a Native American shoot yet, which I will be doing very soon… Viking, Steampunk, Futuristic, Victorian, and Military in the jungle are also next on my list. But as for a favorite, it’s whatever creates amazing images ; )

4) How long does it take to set up and shoot a cover? Do you work personally with the author?

Jimmy – Well I don’t shoot for “a” cover. I shoot a wide range of stock images per photo shoot for my stock image website, RomanceNovelCovers.com.  (RNC) where then cover artists, publishers and authors purchase the images that fit their covers. However, I also do exclusive custom shoots for specific covers for a higher rate. Those shoots range about 1-3 hours depending on the theme, setting, wardrobe, props, solo or with a female model, etc. The final images from these shoots are only available to that author.

5) You have a business out called Romance Novel Covers. Can you give us some information about it, please?

Jimmy - Yes, see above ;) But to elaborate, I have 2 price options; one is for full size printable images. The other is for web-only sized images. There are thousands of images on RNC divided into numerous genres, dozens of new images are uploaded weekly, and images are used for print covers, e-covers, bookmarks, promotional materials, trailers, blogs, website designs, and more.

6) It is my understanding that modeling isn’t the only thing you are good at. Can you tell us about you other professions?

Jimmy - Well, I started being a gigolo when I was 12…oh, oh, sorry wrong interview ;)

I’ve been an Architectural Designer for most of my adult life. I’ve also been an NASM Certified Personal Trainer, and a Self-Defense and Kickboxing Instructor. But my passion is in producing and directing, which is what I do with my RNC shoots.

7) What are the kinds of things you like to do in your off time?

Jimmy - Having great sex as much as possible ;)

SARAH- *fanning myself over here*

8) Your websites are full of information, but we would love to know one thing about you that we wouldn’t find in your bio.

Jimmy - I wave my hair back and forth, I wave my hair back and forth, I wave my hair back and forth ;)

SARAH- I love that song!

9) A small birdie told me that you enjoy doing charity work. Could you please tell us which charity it is and how you help them?

Jimmy - Local animal shelters in the greater Los Angeles area, recently the Capital Area Humane Society in Columbus, Ohio, and upcoming, on June 3rd in Phoenix, it will be for Huntington Disease at the Arizona Dreamin’ Romance Readers Event.

10) If you don’t mind, here are some brief questions to answer.

Luck or Destiny? – Destiny (no such thing as luck ;)

Mountains or Beach? - MOUNTAINS!

Camping or Hotel? - Camping!

Hair-Long or Short? - On me, both. On a girl, long.

Gazing at the stars or watching the sun rise? - Gazing at the stars

Hot or Cold? - Hot sex, cold nipples ;)

Satin or Lace? - Satin sheets, lace underneath ;)

Bikini or One piece? - One piece…bottoms ;)

East coast or West coast? - East coast (born and raised )

Favorite thing to drink? - Whatever she’s having

Favorite meal? - Whatever she’s cooking

Favorite movie? – On a date in the theater… anything action, thriller or sci-fi.

On a date for a rental… anything action, thriller or sci-fi… because she won’t want to watch it… refer to answer #7 ;)

Favorite past time? – Again, refer to answer #7 ;)

Jimmy, I want to again thank you for taking time to do this interview. I have had a lot of fun and we loved getting to know you. Good luck in your future and I hope you have a wonderful day.

Jimmy – Thank you very much, and thank you for the interest in interviewing me and wanting to know more about me.  ; )

SARAH- It was my pleasure!

I would like to leave some links for the fans to use so if they are interested in learning more about you and your work, they can.

******Leave a comment for a chance to win an autographed photo of Jimmy. The winner will be announced here on Mother's Day!!!!!!!! ******
